The toxic smoke spread beyond Boyle Heights. It reached other communities within the city of Los Angeles and also unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. Mockeridge lives in unincorporated East Los Angeles.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis presses the county counsel's office on joint investigations into the Lineage warehouse fire on Los Palos St. in the Boyle Heights community in the city of Los Angeles. The county not only has to coordinate with the city but also state and federal officials.
