Highlights from Wytheville Town Council (VA)

The council removed a proposed firearms ordinance after public opposition, then faced pointed questions about who put it on the agenda and how. Members denied prior knowledge, affirmed support for gun rights, and signaled a push to change how agendas are reviewed.

Residents and former employees raised concerns about council involvement in police personnel matters, prompting council members to clarify their roles and highlight recent improvements for staff. The discussion included calls for accountability, reflections on employee benefits, and a renewed focus on council boundaries.
